Hi there! In today’s post I am going to talk about the best dollar tree buys.

Dollar Tree is the way to go if you are throwing a party, need storage solutions, arts & crafts supplies, and just everyday items to save you money.

I am all about stretching the dollar any way you can-especially when items have the same quality. In many cases, buying the name brand of something is not better than the no-name brand.

Dollar Tree is great for kids too. Kids have incredible imaginations and are great at entertaining themselves-thus they will be content with toys and games that only cost $1. Save the more expensive gifts for birthdays, Christmas, and special rewards.

The Best Dollar Tree Buys

1. Glass containers

I use one glass container to hold my Q-tips. Most Q-tip containers are long and rectangular, so this is a great space-saver and I can put it in the medicine cabinet. I use this other glass container to store baking ingredients, candy, and dried fruit.

2. Dish-towels

They have some cute lightweight cloth towels that you can use as a decorative piece in your kitchen or a great cooking theme gift package/gift basket. They also have the thicker cotton kind too.

3. Taper candles and candlestick holders

I love Taper candles for the dinner table, they instantly make your dining table have a romantic or lavish look to it. I used Taper candles and the candlestick holders for our sweetheart table at our wedding.

4. Canvas art and signs

Dollar Tree has some cute signs and decor for around the home or office. Signs are a great addition to props for photos too!

5. Glass vases for centerpieces

I stocked up on glass vases centerpieces for our wedding. At a $1 per vase, we saved a lot of money than buying glassware from other retailers. These were my best Dollar Tree buys last year. I can reuse them for future events too!

6. Charger plates, Serveware, Plastic cutlery, etc.

Don’t “fork” out the cash when it comes to throwing a party! 😉 (pun intended). Just a few elements can really jazz up a party. Check out this super cute DIY Confetti Serving Tray:

7. Kids toys

They have a great selection of toys for road trips, stocking stuffers, summer/beach toys, coloring books, crayons, markers, etc. I will buy toys from Dollar Tree to take with me when I go on my babysitting jobs. The kids love the toys and are excited to play with something different than their own toys.

8. Glassware

I have found Dollar Tree carries many stylish drinking glasses similar to ones sold at Target! They have wine glasses, water goblets, and classic Coca-Cola glasses.

9. Accent gems/stones

I added white rock to my succulent garden and it makes my succulents really pop! I also bought black rock for my air plants. Accent gems are great to put in vases or if you are throwing a spa party, as decor for a nail soaking station.

10. Wire basket

I use this wire basket to hold my eggs! I like it because it can hold a little over 2 dozen eggs, and it doesn’t take up much space in the fridge, plus it’s adorable!

11. Dishpan

These dishpans are great for several reasons: I use them to soak our table napkins when they need to be bleached, I use them to hold laundry agents and cleaners, and we used one to use as a paint tray.

12. Candy

Candy!!! Dollar Tree also has some candy for less than a dollar. Candy makes great fillers for gifts, and they have a good selection of everyone’s favorites like Snickers, Twix, Butterfinger, M&M’s and so on. A few years ago, my sister-in-law Candace had a Circus (Greatest Showman) themed baby shower and I was in the need for Carnival pops-Dollar Tree has them! They would also be theme-appropriate for a Disneyland themed party.

13. Plastic spray bottle

Spray bottles are great to have on hand. I bought three-one for the bathroom to spray my hair with, one for the laundry room for ironing, and one for the house to spray plants with.

14. Foam brushes

I prefer foam brushes for many of my craft projects because of the ease of spreading the paint onto surfaces. Check out this DIY wooden block project with foam brushes and a paint tray bought from Dollar Tree!

15. Velvet hangers

In my post (insert here) I talk about using velvet hangers to maximize hanging space in the closet. I bought mine from Amazon (it was actually cheaper to buy in bulk), however, if you are buying a few hangers, buy them at Dollar Tree!

16. Nail polish and nail polish remover

They have L.A. Colors nail polish here, and I have used it many times, and it gets the job done! These are great if you want to give them out as favors at a girl’s slumber party, bridal/bachelorette party, or a spa-themed birthday party!

17. Greeting cards

Dollar Tree greeting cards are a great buy because a lot of cards are 2 for $1, and from brands like Hallmark and Dayspring! Greeting cards are definitely one of those things that “its the thought that counts”. Many people end up tossing greeting cards, so why pay $4-$6 for one?

18. Gift bags

Same concept here with greeting cards. Gift bags can cost $3-$5 at Target, save a few bucks and shop at Dollar Tree-they have a wonderful selection for birthdays, weddings, baby showers, and plain ones to choose from.

19. Plates

Dollar Tree has melamine plates, glass plates, and ceramic plates that will make hosting parties so festive! You can dress up your table for less than shopping for plates at other retailers. I like to have different plates on hand for different occasions.

20. Posterboard < $1

They have poster board that is 2 for $1 for white and .69 cents for colored poster board. Kids school projects, yard sale signs,car-wash signs, buy them here!

21. Dog treats/Cat treats

I was surprised at the inventory they had for dogs and cats! Treats are great here because most treats have similar ingredients, and this won’t throw off your pet’s diet.

22. Cleaning supplies

I bought a plastic bucket to fill up with soapy water for car washes, and also I use water and a little bleach to really deep clean our floors. Dollar Tree has lots of cleaning ingredients and supplies for car washes, laundry, cleaning tools, etc. I definitely hit up Dollar Tree when I lived with a roommate to save some money on cleaning supplies.

23. Hygiene

They have lots of hygiene products that are perfect for care packages for soldiers, students away from home, and charities. I like buying the floss picks which are great for on the go, and after meals (since I hate flossing!)

24. Flatware

Buy flatware here if you want a back up for picnics, roadtrips, or you want to have some to carry to work for your work lunches.

25. Cooking utensils

When my friend Elle and I were roommates, I bought all our cooking utensils here! Saved us a ton of money than buying from Macy’s or Bed Bath and Beyond. If you are making a cooking-themed gift basket, maybe have a toddler that likes to play with them, or just need an extra cooking tool I recommend their plastic Betty Crocker tools as well as their bamboo kitchen utensils.

26. Coffee mugs

Glass mugs are so elegant and make coffee drinks that much more enticing to drink from. I like that they have a large selection of mugs, that are make for cute DIY projects

27. Beauty products

No, it’s not Sephora, but they carry L.A. Colors which is a good brand for being a dollar! Just look up Dollar Tree makeup om YouTube and there are a bunch of videos of women using makeup only from Dollar Tree!

28. Seasonal

Decorating for Easter, Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving, 4th of July? Dollar Tree has all sorts of seasonal decorations and DIY ideas on their blog! Check out their post for a Fourth of July party:

29. Storage bins

I love getting storage bins here-great to keep toys, laundry, and little household things organized. They are also great for using as a container for a gift.

30. Faux flowers

Faux flowers are surprisingly expensive, you’d think they’d be cheaper than real flowers! That’s why this is a Dollar Tree best buys item. Faux flowers are perfect to use for wreaths, centerpieces, and other craft projects.
