Sleep is an essential function of life. It’s the time when our bodies heal, our minds recharge, and we prepare for the challenges of a new day. But as a new mama to twins, sleep has become even more crucial to me! It’s everything—literally the difference between functioning and, well, not. However, sleep hasn’t always come easily to me. I’ve always had a hard time falling asleep, and on top of that, I’m a light sleeper. So, any disruption, no matter how small, is enough to keep me tossing and turning all night. And recently, I discovered that the culprit behind my sleepless nights wasn’t just my overactive mind—it was my bed sheets.

The Battle with My Bed Sheets

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been frustrated with my bed sheets popping off in the middle of the night. I never thought much about the type or measurements of the sheets I bought. As long as they were labeled as "king size," I’d grab them from Target, Amazon, Bed Bath & Beyond—wherever. My routine was simple: wash, dry, put them on the bed, and never look back. But every morning, I’d wake up to find my side of the bed a mess, with the fitted sheet half off the mattress.

As a new mom, this was driving me insane. Between the midnight feedings and diaper changes, the last thing I needed was to wrestle with my sheets at 3 AM. I knew I had to find a solution, and fast. But my initial attempts were anything but successful.

Failed Attempts to Keep Sheets from Popping Off

Extra Deep-Pocket Fitted Sheets

My first thought was that maybe the sheets I had weren’t deep enough for our king-size mattress. So, I ordered extra deep-pocket fitted sheets, thinking that would do the trick. But nope, they didn’t work either. I still found myself waking up to that annoying, crumpled mess of fabric every morning.

The Bed Headband

Next, I tried the Bed Headband. It’s this elastic band that fits over your mattress, and you’re supposed to tuck your sheets into it to keep them in place. I figured since it was featured on Shark Tank, it must be good, right? The company even claimed that their product works for adjustable beds, so surely it could handle my regular mattress. I was hopeful, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to my expectations. The sheets still managed to sneak out from under the band, and I was back to square one.

Bed Sheet Holder Straps

After that, I turned to bed sheet holder straps. These straps are supposed to clip onto your sheets and hold them in place by securing them under the mattress. But let me tell you, trying to lift a king-size mattress and slide those straps underneath is no easy task—especially when you’re heavily pregnant with twins! Even when my husband helped, we couldn’t get the straps to stay in place. The sheets still popped off, and I was left frustrated and exhausted.

Brooklinen Sheets

I also tried investing in some high-quality sheets from Brooklinen. I had heard great things about their deep-pocket sheets, so I was optimistic. But once again, I was disappointed. Despite their luxurious feel and high thread count, they didn’t solve my problem. The sheets still came off, and I was ready to pull my hair out.

Nothing Worked! Until…

By this point, I was starting to feel like maybe I was the only one who struggled with this issue. I mean, how hard could it be to keep a fitted sheet on a mattress? But after some late-night Googling (because, of course, I wasn’t sleeping), I stumbled upon a company called OneBed.

I was intrigued by their promise of sheets that actually stay in place, no matter how much you toss and turn. They even had a video demonstrating how their sheets stayed put, even with a very active sleeper. With our twin babies due the following month, I was desperate for a solution, so I decided to give OneBed a try.

My Experience with OneBed

When I discovered OneBed’s website, I was pleasantly surprised that they offer a quiz to help guide you on the perfect sheets. One thing I loved about OneBed, is that they offer bed sheets for the modern sleeper. What do I mean by that? They offer sheets for people (like me) who don’t sleep under a sheet. I have always slept on top of my sheets and then have slept under a light blanket, or a comforter during colder weather. They call this type of sheet “Easy On” flat sheet where you can tuck in your top sheet, or leave it untucked.

My quiz results pointed me to the Cool & Lazy Complete Set. I ordered the set in Graphite Gray which included a duvet cover, a “Stay On” fitted sheet, a flat sheet, and two pillow covers. I also ordered the “Easy On” flat sheet as a backup. From the moment I placed my order, I was cautiously optimistic. The sheets arrived quickly, and I was immediately impressed by the quality. I wanted that crisp, cool hotel feel. They were lightweight, smooth, crisp yet soft feel that I hadn’t experienced with any of my previous sheets. But the true test would be how well they stayed on the bed.

The first night I used them, I noticed a difference right away. The sheets fit snugly over our king-size mattress, and there was no slack or looseness. It was extremely easy to put on our sheets. I climbed into bed, still half-expecting to wake up to the usual mess, but to my surprise, the sheets stayed perfectly in place all night. Night after night, these sheets have not let me down. No more waking up to crumpled sheets or struggling to fix them in the middle of the night. I was finally able to get a full night’s sleep, and it was glorious.

Why OneBed Sheets Are a Game Changer

So, what makes OneBed sheets different from all the others I tried? For starters, they’re designed with a unique elastic system that ensures a secure fit around your mattress. Unlike other sheets that rely on deep pockets or straps, OneBed sheets have a patented design that keeps them in place, no matter how much you move around.

Another feature I love is that the sheets are made from high-quality materials that are both durable and comfortable. They’re soft to the touch, yet strong enough to withstand frequent washing and drying. And because they stay in place, there’s less wear and tear, which means they’ll last longer than other sheets I’ve tried.

How To Take Care of OneBed Sheets

Start by washing your sheets in cold or warm water, and tumble dry on low. If you have darker-colored sheets, they can often show stains like sweat or oil more easily than lighter colors. A simple trick to tackle these stubborn stains is to use Dawn Platinum Powerwash Dish Spray or any Dawn dish soap, which helps break down the stain. I spray the affected areas with Dawn and let the sheets soak overnight in warm water in the bathtub. Then, I wash them with OxiClean and laundry detergent, adding an extra rinse to remove any remaining dish soap. OneBed sheets get softer with each wash, and for the best care, OneBed recommends washing your sheets weekly!

In Conclusion: Why I Recommend OneBed

As a new mama to twins, sleep is more important to me than ever, and OneBed has been a game-changer. I can finally rest easy knowing that my sheets won’t pop off in the middle of the night, and I wake up feeling more refreshed and ready to take on the day. If you’ve ever struggled with keeping your sheets in place, I highly recommend giving OneBed a try. Trust me, your sleep (and sanity) will thank you!
