Bible Themed Toys for Toddlers

If you’re anything like me, you’re always looking for toys that are not only fun for your toddler, but also meaningful. Toddlers are little sponges, soaking up everything around them, and it’s such a sweet season to begin introducing simple Bible stories and faith-filled concepts in a way they can understand. That’s where Bible-themed toys for toddlers really shine.

Faith-based toys don’t have to be boring or overly serious. In fact, many of them are colorful, interactive, and perfect for little hands and short attention spans. From Noah’s Ark playsets to felt boards and chunky board books, there are so many creative ways to make Bible stories come alive during everyday play.

Here are some of my favorite Bible-themed toy ideas for toddlers and why they’re worth adding to your home.

Noah’s Ark Toys - A Classic!

Noah’s Ark is often one of the first Bible stories we introduce to our kids, and for good reason. It’s full of animals (a toddler favorite!) and a beautiful message of obedience and God’s promises.

Wooden Noah’s Ark toys are especially great for toddlers. They’re sturdy, usually come with chunky animal pairs, and encourage imaginative play. Your child can practice matching animals, opening and closing doors, and retelling the story in their own simple way. Even if they don’t fully understand the story yet, hearing phrases like “God told Noah…” during playtime helps lay a foundation.

What I love most is how naturally conversation flows while playing. You can talk about animals, colors, counting, and gently weave in the idea that God cares for His people and His creation.

Faith-Based Books

Books are always a win in our house, and faith-based board books are perfect for toddlers. These books are typically short, colorful, and written in simple language that keeps little ones engaged.

Here are some of our family favorites:

Many toddler Bible books use rhyme and repetition, which is perfect for early language development. Reading these books as part of a daily bedtime routine creates consistency and helps faith become a natural part of everyday life.

You don’t need to read word-for-word either. Sometimes just pointing at pictures, naming objects, or paraphrasing is enough. The goal isn’t perfection, but exposure and connection.

Felt Boards: Hands-On Bible Storytelling

Felt boards are one of my favorite faith-based toys for toddlers because they’re interactive without being overwhelming. Felt pieces stick easily to the board, making it simple for toddlers to participate in storytelling.

Here are our favorite felt board sets:

Felt boards are wonderful for quiet play, especially during nap time wind-downs or Sunday afternoons. Toddlers love moving the pieces around, and you can retell the story as many times as they want (which, let’s be honest, is usually a lot).

They’re also great for developing fine motor skills and encouraging focus, which is a bonus.

YOTO Player Bible Stories

At bed time, it is so special to hear our two year old twins say “Bible stories!” We love our YOTO player and we play Bible stories for our kids every night. I love the ability to make our own cards too, so our kids can listen to faith based content. One of the reasons we love the Yoto Player so much is how easily it can be used in a Christian context. There are Old and New Testament Bible story cards available that walk little ones through familiar stories in a simple, engaging way—think Creation, Noah’s Ark, David and Goliath, John the Baptist, the birth of Jesus, Paul and more. Listening to these stories during quiet time, rest time, or before bed helps reinforce biblical truth without screens or distractions. It’s also a sweet way for toddlers to hear Scripture and Bible stories repeatedly, which is so important at this age. Over time, these familiar stories become comforting, recognizable, and woven naturally into everyday routines, helping plant seeds of faith in a gentle and meaningful way.

Puzzles and Stacking Toys with a Faith Twist

Faith-based puzzles and stacking toys are great for toddlers who love hands-on challenges. Look for wooden puzzles featuring Bible scenes, animals from the ark, or simple symbols like crosses and rainbows.

These toys help toddlers work on problem-solving skills while reinforcing Bible stories they’re already learning. They’re also easy to rotate into your toy lineup without overwhelming your space.

Why Bible-Themed Toys Matter (Even at This Age)

It’s easy to wonder if toddlers are “too young” to understand faith-based toys, but this stage is all about exposure and repetition. They may not grasp the full meaning yet, but they’re learning familiarity, comfort, and routine. In Deuteronomy 6:6-7 it says, "And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up." When faith-based toys are mixed in with everyday play, they don’t feel forced or separate. They become just another part of life—just like mealtime, playtime, and bedtime.

And honestly, that’s the goal. We’re not aiming for perfect theological understanding in toddlerhood. We’re aiming to gently introduce God’s Word and create positive associations with faith.

Keeping It Simple and Pressure-Free

One of the biggest encouragements I can offer is this: don’t overthink it. You don’t need a full Bible lesson every time your toddler picks up a Noah’s Ark toy. Sometimes simply naming the story, mentioning God, or saying a short prayer together is enough.

Faith-based toys are tools, not tests. They’re meant to support what you’re already doing—loving your child, caring for them, and pointing them toward the Lord in small, everyday moments.

Final Thoughts

Bible-themed toys for toddlers are such a sweet way to start introducing faith in a natural, age-appropriate way. Whether it’s a wooden Noah’s Ark, a simple board book, or a felt board story, these toys help plant seeds that can grow over time.

In the busy, messy, joyful toddler years, it’s comforting to know that even during playtime, we can gently point our little ones toward truth. And as parents, that’s a beautiful thing to be part of.

If you’re building a toy collection for your toddler, consider adding a few faith-based options. You might be surprised at how often they reach for them—and how meaningful those small moments of play can become.
